London pt 2

Chinatown here. They were doing some sort of utility work in Chinatown and the streets were all torn up. But business was still humming.

A statue of Boadicea/Boudicca at one of the bridges crossing the Thames. She was a queen who led her celtic peeps in a revolt against the Romans, who had been behaving badly. Her forces destroyed the new city of Lodinium. Tough gal. In tribute to her, the capitalists of contemporary London have put up a souvenir stand in front of her statue where they sell T-shirts and postcards of bare breasts with misogynistic sayings.
