I was unaware that our President had used his press conference on Tuesday to engage the nation in intellectual conversation. Here's what he had to say about De Tocqueville:
"De Tocqueville, who's a French guy, came in 1832 and recognized and wrote back -- wrote a treatise about what it means to go to a country where people have -- associate voluntarily to serve their communities."
Thanks Mr. President. When I read that I flashed back to my time spent grading philosophy papers written by eighteen year olds in Kennesaw Georgia. Our president is a man of the people.
