So about a month ago I decided that I might like to know who was stopping by my place on the old interlist, so I started keeping track. Turns out I had a few more guests than I thought. And traffic has picked up as of late for reasons unbeknownst to me. I stopped paying attention there for a couple weeks, cause frankly I don't much care, and when I checked back I saw that I had a big spike one day, but had no idea why. I have noticed that some of the weird shit, mostly related to my odd research tangents, that I have blogged in the past tends to show up prominently in certain search engines. So, you know, if you're out there and really wanting to know more about 19th century medicine, maggot debridement therapy, or pro-slavery theater productions in England in 1789, well pal, you've arrived.
Welcome to Trickgnosis.
I bring this up mostly because I discovered something rather distressing. Tg shows up very prominently on Yahoo when searching for a topic I'd rather not be associated with. I'm not going to name it again but it involves a regional southern fascist...um... young men's movement? fraternal fellowship? circle jerk? gang? Something like that. I mentioned them once in passing when I first opened the doors here at Tg, in relation to a near barfight I'd almost been involved in. And now anyone who goes looking for them on the interlist gets to learn about this site. This does not please me. So I'm considering going back and editing a few words of that post, over a year old now, in the hopes of ending my interlist association with this unfortunate element. One never knows just what one is creating.
If I ever find that genie in that lamp I'm spending one wish asking to see the consequences of one single, seemingly innocuous, action. But first I might have to wish to live forever.
