I normally don't care much for astrology...ok, I think it's embarrassingly inane. But I do know that I'm a Leo, and I always liked that cause lions are cool and tough. Then I found out that according to Chinese astrology I was born in the year of the Dog. I liked that too cause I'm a dog person and usually like dogs better than people. So, in essence, I find astrology silly, but can enjoy it as an entertaining diversion as long as it comes with a cool name and flatters me.
Which leads me to today. I was poking around the web at work and saw something about the approaching Chinese New Year, the year of the Rooster, and how it's considered inauspicious and nobody Chinese wants to get married this year if they can help it so they're trying to get married now, before the Rooster year, aka year of the widow, begins. So I went to read a little bit about why the rooster is a bad year and took a peek at the Dog year since I was already there. I discovered that there are different kinds of Dogs, and Monkeys, Roosters, Dragons etc...based on the Chinese system of elements: metal, water, wood, earth, fire. Turns out that I am a "metal dog."
Dude. How could I have been anything else?
So here's the cool description of IRON DOG:

This type of Dog can be unwavering in his convictions and highly critical of every infraction of the law according to his own interpretation. He will give himself to a lifetime of selfless dedication if he finds an object or cause worthy of his devotion. Yet he can be ruthless when aroused and will pursue his enemies until they are annihilated.
